ANTELOPE DAM DESIGN MODIFICATIONS

Project Summary: The project is located approximately two miles east of Mission, South Dakota, on the Rosebud Sioux Reservation, and the work generally consists of the following: controlled drawdown of Antelope Reservoir, bypass of Antelope Creek around the project site, contractor designed dewatering and unwatering systems, excavation of the existing earthen embankment and auxiliary spillway, demolition and removal of the existing morning glory spillway and abandoned conduits, construction of a new reinforced concrete service spillway, outlet works, and impact basin; reconstruction of the dam embankment, including compacted embankment fill, filter sand chimney and blanket, toe drain system and filter trench, and riprap and riprap bedding; construction of a new auxiliary spillway crest control structure; and the construction of a new boat ramp and boat dock.
